Vancouver is a limited edition print or serigraph from 1988, with an edition size of only 50, by Roy Henry Vickers, Tsimshian First Nations Artist from the Pacific Northwest Coast.

This serigraph is from 1988 and is signed, numbered (27/50) and titled in original by the artist. The image size is 24 inches or close to 61 centimeters wide and 20 inches or 51 centimeters high.

"I was looking at the stand of totems in Stanley park and was reminded again of my native heritage. This caused me to reflect on an incident told to me by Chief Dan George. As a young man he had just lost a finger in an accident and had to row across Burrard Inlet, then hike up a trail through trees to St. Paul’s Hospital for treatment. He remembered looking West from the hospital balcony towards the Burrard Street Bridge and seeing the sun set on nothing but more trees.

From my vantage point, I turned and looked across the harbour at a different kind of forest - one of skyscrapers - towers of glass and steel. So many changes. Today hundreds of thousands of people live here having settled from all over the world. One family who moved to this thriving metropolis were my grandparents, John and Sophia Freeman and their eight daughters. It is to the Freeman family that I dedicate this work, entitled Vancouver." 

The print is framed and matted, is in good condition and has no visual imperfections. You might see some reflections in the glass. Personal viewing is recommended. We do not ship framed prints, since the danger of the glass damaging the print is too great. We will however ship the print without frame and matting.
